The All I want for Christmas cards Collection 2 Launch night

Last Thursday saw the launch of the All I want for Christmas cards Collection 2 at The White Bear Pub in Bristol. We were lucky enough to have the talents of not only award winning illustrator Simon Spilsbury and general creative whiz Melbs drawing and doodling indoors, but also local talents Iain Sellar and Tim Miness who took to the outside garden wall with awesome results. Whilst all this was going on we managed to stage a live charity auction of over 25 pieces of work donated not only by artists involved in this year's collection but also by some very special guest artists including Jonathan Yeo, Connor Harrington, Antony Micallef and Banksy. The auction was a great success with 23 of the 25 pieces selling on the night and raising over £8000 for the charity YoungBristol. Banksy's very limited edition "Very Little Helps" raised £4500 on it's own!

The night was a great success and enjoyed by all those that attended. Thank you to every one that came down and showed their support including the artists involved El Tobe, Aaron Miller, Superfex, Natalie Hughes, Naomi Dodds, Wayne Harris, Rob Barrett, Alex Mathers, Lauren Ellis and special thanks to Iain Sellar, Tim Miness, Melbs and Simon Spilsbury for coming down and doing what they do best.

We are very happy to announce that apart from all the great work we have received for auction from the participating artists in this year's collection, we have also been given a number of works from the Lazarides Gallery. Including work from Tom Price, Jonathan Yeo, Antony Mecallif and Conor Harrington. We also have a piece of work from one very special Bristol-born artist but we will leave you to make your own assumptions as to who that is...

To be in with a chance of purchasing some great works of art from over 25 UK based illustrators and artists make sure you are at The White Bear pub this Thursday 04th November for 6.30pm. This is not one to be missed.

Launch Night

The launch night for the All I want for Christmas cards event is fast approaching. This Thursday 12th November will see the Arnolfini, Bristol play host to the launch of this new fesitive event. As well as the revealing of the Christmas card packs available to purchase from the book shop we will be holding a charity auction of original artworks produced by local artists for the cards. There will be prints from the likes of Jon Burgerman, Inkie, Ben Newman, Rich T, Peskimo and many more. If you are in the Bristol area on Thursday and fancy popping by for a drink and a chat with some of the artists involved then come on down the Arnolfini for 6pm.

The results are in and the cards have been shipped off to the printers. We have been blown away by the response that we have had to this new festive charity project and we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved for their support.

We are very happy to confirm that Mr. Jon Burgerman will be contributing to the Christmas cards project. We have personally been big fans of his work for many years and it is a real honour to have him on board for this project. Watch this space for more details.

Filthy Luker confirmed

We are pleased to announce that Filthy Luker the Bristol based inflatable street artist is on board and is to create something for the launch night on the 12th November at the Arnolfini, Bristol. We will be meeting with him tomorrow to see what plans he has and we can't wait. Watch this space for more information.

Over 30 Bristol Artists and Illustrators confirmed

We are very pleased to announce that we now have over 30 local Bristol Illustrators and Artists confirmed as taking part in this exciting new Christmas card project. Amongst them we have the likes of Inkie, Peskimo (seen above), 45RPM, Yaka, Chris Dickason, Motorboy, Ben Newman, China Mike, Rich T, Lucie Sheridan, SEPR, Tortie Rye, Tom Hine, Docvek, Sarah Knight & Heidi Gough.

It looks set to be quite an event on the 12th November. Thanks to all those taking part and watch this space for more updates.

Artists and Illustrators confirmed so far

We have had a really great response to the project so far from a number of highly acclaimed Artists and Illustrators. On the bill so far are Bristol artists such as Inkie (work seen above), Peskimo, Ben Newman, Rich T, Lucie Sheridan and China Mike. We are constantly getting confirmation from some great local illustrators, so we will keep you posted on any updates.

Hello All,

Welcome to the All I want for Christmas cards blogspot. We are going to use this as a way of keeping you all up to date with everything that happens over the next few months. You can also follow us on Twitter (www.twitter.com/All_I_Want) and you can join the Facebook group (www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=275796380626), so there's no excuse not to know whats going on.

We have the designs ready for our promotional material, which we are really happy with and will be used to help promote the event leading up to the launch night at the Arnolfini on the 12th November. Let us know what you think.

We will also be launching the official website in a matter of days. It's all go go go at the moment.
